San Francisco is a personal favorite weekend getaway for me, but next time you are planning a trip to the City by the Bay, make it a long weekend, so you have time to explore Big Sur and The Post Ranch Inn. Spending a few days in San Francisco and a few days along the coast makes for the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation to make your long weekend complete!

Just a 2.5-hour drive outside San Francisco along Highway 1, you will find beautiful Big Sur, which is home to The Post Ranch Inn. This is the perfect place to disconnect (and we mean really disconnect— there are no TVs or alarm clocks in the rooms). The Post Ranch Inn embodies rustic elegance and provides the perfect escape from daily life. The resort is built atop the cliffs, so you are sure to have unbelievable views.

Another good reason to visit Post Ranch Inn is to explore the local area. There are plenty of parks and local hikes to keep you active during the day, or if art is of interest to you, visit the nearby Hawthorne Gallery or the Post Gallery located on the property next to the Chef’s Garden. However you spend your time in Big Sur, just make sure to be back for dinner and cocktails at Sierra Mar, the restaurant exclusive to Post Ranch Inn guests, to enjoy the sunset views!
